CD-Less is a new eco-friendly alternative to the traditional CD format.  Introduced by L-A be ( l-abe.com ), a Canadian based record label, this product brings a new solution to the challenges that faces the music industry with illegal downloads, the slow paced growth of the digital market and the frustration of some music lovers of not having any artists’ artefacts in a new digital era.

The idea, developed by Louis-Armand Bombardier ( L-A be ) with the help of Jean-Robert Bisaillon ( Iconoclaste ), is quite simple: no CD, but an album sleeve holding a booklet, a promo sticker and a code for the buyer to legally download the album on the internet (free DRM mp3 format)!

The Blue Seeds ( theblueseeds.com ) is the first artist to take part to this new eco-and-fan-friendly initiative.  Its new album, recently released in Canada by L-A be, will be offered as a cd-less starting June 25th, just in time for its performance at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal on June 26th.

L-A be hopes that other labels and artists will join its new innovative venture.  In the mean time, look for The Blue Seeds’ new album on cd-less starting June 25th, available  in the greater Montreal area stores for only $9,99.
